CDC: Flu activity eases, but child deaths still climb (Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy)

Nov 30, 2009 (CIDRAP News) – The number of states with widespread pandemic flu activity dropped for the third week in a row, but the virus continued to take a heavy toll on children, with at least 27 more pediatric deaths reported the week of Nov 15 to 21, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said today.

H1N1 (swine) flu update, Nov. 30 (Belmont Citizen-Herald)

The Belmont Health Department has vaccinated 599 individuals so far, primarily pregnant women, household contacts of babies less than 6 months of age, health care workers, children ages two to five and children ages six to ten with underlying medical conditions, all priority groups.

Health department to offer seasonal, H1N1 flu vaccines (The Lexington Dispatch)

The Davidson County Health Department will offer separate clinics for the seasonal and H1N1 flu this month at its office. The seasonal flu clinic is scheduled for 12:30-5 p.m. Dec. 10 at the health department in Lexington. The free H1N1 clinic will be from 1-6 p.m. Dec. 16.
